Digitalization: Emerging Practices and Their Beneficiaries
1:00 PM - 2:15 PM
Digital Finance & Fintech
Room Edmond Dune - second floor

Workshop on recent trends in the digitization of microfinance: which areas are digitizing most, for what purposes, how does it benefit organizations and end users? Digitalization of microfinance is a topic of growing importance, not just for MFIs but for all kinds of providers who deliver services for low-income people. However, to date little discussion has taken place regarding practices and beneficiaries. The purpose of this session is to foster cross-disciplinary and cross-industry discussion and identify potential for future research, innovation and collaboration.

Target audience: Academics and practitioners.

Learning outcomes: Attendees should gain a better understanding of trends in the digitalization of microfinance, the difference between digitization and digitalization, the areas that are most developed, and the emerging practices of professionals and end users, and who benefits from digitalization.
