Mariella joined Bank im Bistum Essen (BIB) in April 2021 and as Senior Sustainable Finance Officer is responsible to develop and implement the sustainable investment strategy for the BIB microfinance funds. Mariella has more than eight years practical experience in the microfinance sector, including as Investment Officer in Central America, as an Expert for TA projects in Mozambique and Kenya and as Contract and Transaction Manager for an impact fund specializing in microfinance based in Frankfurt.
Mariella holds a master's degree in Economics and Latin American Studies from the University of Cologne (Germany). She is Frankfurt School's Certified Expert in Microfinance and obtained the CESGA (EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst) diploma in 2022. Mariella is based in Germany and is fluent in Spanish, German and English.
