Diana Salume Aqrchet is a Senior Programme Associate for Refugee Financial Inclusion at Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited (OBUL). Diana has over 8 years of work experience in delivering inclusive financial services to unbanked communities in Uganda. Since 2019, Diana has supported OBUL in designing and delivering tailored financial services to refugee communities in Uganda.

As a result of her efforts, OBUL has reached over 35,000 refugees with financial literacy, activated 10,600 refugee savings accounts, and disbursed over $ 1 million in loans to 4000 refugees. The bank has also established physical branches in Nakivale and Rwamwanja refugee settlements.

Diana is currently an MA student in Project Planning and Management and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, a Bachelors Degree in Economics (Planning and Development) and several other professional qualifications in Digital Finance, Financial Literacy and Investment. Diana is a Bank of Uganda’s Certified Financial Literacy Trainer. She is passionate about digital financial solutions, gender inclusiveness and youth empowerment.
