Workshop (By Invitation Only): Using Geospatial Data to Boost Agriculture and Forestry Financing in Developing Countries
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Climate & Green finance
Room Nic Klecker - 2nd floor

As part of the annual European Microfinance Week (EMW), ADA (Appui au développement autonome), and Rabobank are organising a workshop “Explore the potential of geospatial data for inclusive agriculture and nature finance”.

The workshop is driven by the growing availability of geospatial data, rising demand to assess environmental risks and opportunities in inclusive finance, and regulatory and market data requirements. Expanding private-sector use of geospatial data and new data-driven solutions make this an ideal time to connect key stakeholders from Luxembourg’s remote sensing and the international inclusive finance community. We aim for a workshop favouring interactions and valorising the expertise and experience of these stakeholders.

Objectives of the workshop

  • Establish a basic understanding of geospatial data and its possibilities today
  • Inspire a reflection on the use of geospatial data by different use cases in the inclusive finance sector
  • Discuss with both space and finance communities how we can use satellite data in the inclusive finance sector, with focus on agri and nature finance
