Jonathan is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Zurich. His recent academic research focuses on sustainability, digital adoption, and consumer protection in financial services. He has also worked with policy and industry stakeholders on various applied projects to promote sustainable and responsible applications of artificial intelligence & machine learning in finance. This includes collaborations with Women’s World Banking and the Center for Financial Inclusion on assessment and mitigation of algorithmic bias in inclusive finance systems and a pilot study with Innovations for Poverty Action to improve monitoring of the fintech app market using web automation and machine learning approaches.
Previously, Jonathan was a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in small business development and a senior research analyst at a public policy consultancy working on social and health policy.
Jonathan completed his PhD in Management and Economics in 2019 at the University of Zurich. He also holds a Master’s in Public and Economic Policy from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
